💃🏽Your first dance, your way!🕺🏾 Every 💃🏽Your first dance, your way!🕺🏾 Every year I teach I understand more about what makes a successful first dance journey for my wedding planning couples: 💃🏽I adapt my process for each couple; 🕺🏾the choreo is tailored and tweaked as we go, to suit their personalities, or we talk about what bits they do/don’t like; and 💍 I give mindset support to prep them for the dancefloor. I love it when my more introvert clients suddenly unleash their dancefloor alter ego that they didn’t realise they had within them! I clock it, tell them I’ve spotted it - quite often they then make a point of bringing their alter ego to every lesson 🤪🤩💃🏽🕺🏾. Of course I don’t force anything but sometimes we just need a little permission and encouragement to just Let It Flowwww!!! Sometimes they find themselves asking to add in a move - effectively becoming choreographers themselves - and I’m like ’bring it onnn’! I’m not precious about my choreo as I want them to be comfortable and proud of their routine. My husband was initially reticent to take classes and he was very much “doing it for me” when we started, but he loved it! Alison was easy to be around, friendly and a great teacher so he felt immediately at ease and could have fun with it. The sessions felt informal and casual which really helped set the tone. I seem to end up spending NYE with this one - one of my dearest oldest friends who I met when we were teaching at stagecoach (me dance and she was teaching singing) c. TWENTY YEARS AGO!! And now I’m so proud of her with her own Stagecoach franchises @stagecoachchorleywoodricki , which I help manage when she needs a helping hand. “I didn't know I could dance - noone had never s “I didn't know I could dance - noone had never shown me how..." I hear this so often at the end of the first dance process. If you think you can't dance, if you've never had the opportunity or reason to learn to dance, why would your bodies automatically know how to dance?! You might love dancing like a wildchild at a rave (?!) but might feel out of your depth when you have to try a 'social partner' dance - moving wtih someone in a foxtrot, salsa or jive might just feel weird and majorly awkward. I break down the basic steps of the style of dance that will suit your first dance song, so you learn the true technique of the style - you'll have this gorgeous skill for the rest of your lives together. AND if performing the dance in front of your guests feels weird, I'll help you with techniques to calm your nerves and to improve your confidence - and this can go beyond the dance floor, as the practice of working on posture and, yep - a little bit of fitness in my sessions - can make. you feel great for every part of the eyes on you moments of your wedding from the moment you walk down the aisle through the rest of the day.
